Another month has passed us by. It was an extremely busy one for us. In fact, I just recently feel as though I can come up to take a breath. It felt good today to focus on the little things. The things that make up each day and bring constant smiles amongst chaos.

A Celebration or Two.

The first week of April is just about the craziest and most fun week of the year around here. It starts with my birthday (finally celebrated the golden birthday), has the girls birthday in the middle (they had their golden birthday as well this year)and ended with Easter Sunday. Not to mention all the Egg hunts, spring break activities and a few birthday parties thrown into the mix as well, it’s safe to say that by the end, we were at celebration capacity. I’m thankful for this week of reflection and blessing. The girls turned five this year. It hit me harder than I thought it would. I see them as kids all the sudden. The little toddler body left far behind, no longer scanning the room to make sure i’m still around. They run to new adventures, can’t wait to make new friends and explore new relationships. They have grand ideas, and think they know all the answers. My long days with them to myself are numbered and i can’t help but miss them alittle bit already. Before then we’ll just have to fit in many more memeories like these….

10 months of joy and entertainment

Miss Meadow, You are 10 months old. You are a constant source of entertainment and joy! lately you have been on the move! You are no longer content crawling around, you prefer to be vertical and scoot yourself along the furniture. Just today you began walking behind your little push cart all over the house.

You always give a big open mouth grin. recently, you don’t stop blowing kisses and humming while patting your mouth, always talking, just like you sisters. You have found very efficient ways to communicate what you want. If the rest of the family is eating something you want, you just shriek until they share it or give it to you. That’s pretty much your method to getting whatever it is you want, shrieks and grunts.

You are a great eater. your favorites being peas, broccoli, brussel sprouts, apples, bananas and watermelon. Surprisingly breads and pastas are not your preferred foods.You also rarely will eat anything pureed. you have four teeth and i can see a few more that should arrive shortly. you take the largest bites i’ve ever seen. when you start to chew, the food begins to make it’s way back out of your mouth. You push it in with the back of your wrist and hold it there while you chew. we call you chipmunk.

You are the most ticklish baby! If someone just pretends to tickle you, you laugh and try to cover yourself. recently you started pretending to growl at people and when we laugh, you chuckle and then do it again. you have an amazing knack for knowing what it is, I just picked up and head directly to the spot to empty and dump whatever it is.. you basically spend your time going from room to room emptying every cupboard and shelf. why must you do this!?

you are a real ham and love making everyone laugh. you are a special little girl! time has been flying by so fast! I wish i could freeze you in this stage forever (without the 1am and 5am wake-up calls that is). But I know God has great things for you! and i can’t wait to see all he will do in your life. I love your spirit Meadow!

LUCK O THE IRISH

Being pretty close to 1o0% Irish. St.Patty’s Day has always been a day to be celebrated. Growing up, the celebration involved much Guinness, corned beef and cabbage. With little kids around, we’ve been celebrating a little differently and started our own tradition of Lucky the Elf. The girls and I have been working on our trap throughout the week. We had the trap set and went off to bed. Hoping to wake-up to, a trapped leprechaun.

Instead, we woke-up to a crazy messy house! There were little green foot prints, a carton of green milk and toilet paper everywhere! Our trap didn’t work. Lucky took our money! He did leave behind his vest, hat and some candy. He also left a note saying we gave it a good try, but need to design a better trap next year, if we think we are gonna catch a Lucky leprechaun!

(don’t mind the piles of laundry in the background, that is what i should have been doing last night rather than trapping leprechauns :)

Is it just me or are days, months and moments just whizzing by? I can hardly keep up and there is no end in site to the festivities ahead. Here’s a little peek into what we’ve been up to lately.

we had a little valentine fun

special heart hair-do’s for our class valentine party

someone surprised us by standing up in her crib… we had to drop the mattress asap!

no climbing out now

we had a little early birthday trip to the magical kingdom!

our favorite event.. meeting the princesses!

in disney, someone lost two teeth!! good thing disney has the “tinkerbell tooth fairy!”

Ainsley got to be “star of the week” at school. She was really excited to do the pledge of allegiance and lead the class.

the girls had their first choir performance. they sang “under construction” in front of the whole congrigation. Emmie was especially excited to wear the robe.

we got a box of seaweed at costco. all the girls have been a fan.

our first pigtails!

we’ve been enjoying the wonderful weather, i don’t feel like winter ever came, but i’m not complaining!

sometimes i follow around the pro’s and watch true beauty be created and captured. i tuck away a few tricks of the master, and then return to the spot on my own. only instead of creating artistic beauty, i end up relying heavily on my auto focus. i may never figure out how to properly work my camera. luckily, i’m blessed with subjects that are full of beauty and joy.
