Home is where the heart is

it’s probably obvious by our pictures, that I’m a homebody.  I’m happiest when there’s no agenda and we are free to fill the day with whatever comes our way. That usually includes lost of art projects, outside play, dress-up and playing “family.”  of coarse there are a few tantrums and crying spells peppered throughout :)

little meadow is a coveted guest at all sleep overs. she loves the attention and is often talking up a storm.

a glimpse

I’d love to write an eloquent heartfelt post about all i’ve learned, felt and been challenged by this week. But a little someoneIMG_1063

has a cold and has not been sleeping, leaving me without much brain power. So here’s a bit of our day in pictures.

Meadow has no interest in rolling over, which according to “them” she should be doing by now. She has however, mastered sitting-up.

if i were Meadow, i’d work on the rolling. At least then, she would have a small chance of escaping a certain four-year-old, who thinks her sister exist for the sole purpose of being squeezed, squished and kissed 24/7.

she’s probably safest here, as my happy helper.

In the afternoon, we headed outside with the neighbors, to try out Gavin’s new skateboard.

Fun in B&W

I’ve been having some fun playing with my new Rebel T3camera. Yes, I’ve left the nikon world, and can now join all the cool kids in the Canon camp. Ainse stepped out onto the patio and i was able to get some fun shots.

at first i began to edit them in color,

Preschoolers and Pool Parties

It’s official. My girls are off to “real school.” We home-schooled last year and they’ve been counting down the days till “real school” ever since. There were some nerves a few tears but mostly excitement on my side and theirs. The next day they even woke-up begging to go back. Before I know it we’ll be dropping off at kindergarten, then ill be the one with nerves and tears.

Not only have we been busy with preschool but we’ve been busy in the pool. With a crazy heat wave, there’s no better place to be.

Growing up

With each day I get a new glimpse into Meadows’ personality. She definitely becoming a little character, carving out her place in the family. If she wasn’t so cute I’d be a lot more grumpy about her recent nighttime shenanigans.

Recent happenings

It’s been a busy couple of weeks. We’ve been busy hanging with friends, traveling to San Jose, preparing for the upcoming Mops year and getting ready for our first year of preschool.

Meadow will be four months next week (how is that even possible?) She has found her voice and loves to add her two cents into the conversations around here (which are plenty) She has begun to have control over her hands and is mesmerized by her toys. She spends much time chewing on them.

The big girls start preschool next week and celebrated the occasion with Haircuts. They are excited. I doubt they will even realize I am not there.  They spend their days making up games, cutting and taping anything in their paths, playing family and asking me 10,000 questions throughout the day.  Today they wanted to know who will die first. I said I wasn’t sure. Ainsley decided she hopes I die first, that way she can play way more games with Dad! The job of mother, so unappreciated!

A favorite activity at Grandma Robbi’s is to decorate the Easter Tree. NO matter the season, the Easter tree will make an appearance from the attic and be in full decor before our visit is complete.

it’s good to be home. back to the pool. story time and apparently the best thing in the world… games with dad.
