Activity of the day… Run

IMG_2157

9 miles today. As far as long runs go…. This is as short as they get.

Five Months of Mea

Little Mea-Mea is five months old today. This month Meadow left behind the ways of a newborn and has become a “baby”with smiles, laughs and new expressions. Meadow has recently found her voice. It is hilarious! Her little voice sings, roars and gurgles. She is no wallflower, with the volume of her voice, this girl is proving she  can keep up with her sisters. Meadow does not appreciate when you lay her down. She’d much rather see the world from sitting up, and thanks to her ample thighs, that’s a pretty easy task.  When she is on her back, she usually has her toes in her hands and is gurgling away as only a very happy baby can.

4.5

Today is a special day. It marks half way between 4 and 5. It’s the girls half birthday. We celebrated with half a birthday song, and half a doughnut :)

The changes in the last six months have been some of my favorites to witness. The girls are so creative, imaginative, and entertaining. All of the sudden they are children, ones who left toddlerhood far behind. They ask deep questions about heaven having a sky, how Jesus can hear them, even when they only whisper, wanting to know the details of EVERYTHING. I can’t get over how their imaginations have blossomed. All of the sudden they are little girls, playing games I can remember playing myself.

I did a little interview with each girl to look back on and see how things change over the next few months that turn into years too quickly.

Day 4- Traveling

Activity Day 3 – build something

Meadow has been with us for five months. She is such an easy going, funny, and smiley baby. In my eyes, she’s pretty much perfect. Of coarse, there’s one exception, she’s not the best sleeper. Infact, she pretty much only sleeps while in motion. For the past five months she has either slept in a baby wrap, the stroller or the swing. No matter how drowsy i get her, the second I lay her down flat, boom! She’s awake. It’s  alitte embarassing to admit, but it wasn’t until my mom came to visit, took one look at Meadow in the swing and declared “that girl is way to big for that swing, we better get her in the crib.” So down to the garage went in search of crib parts. It became a team effort.

the process took us awhile, but Meadow seemed pretty excited about her new little space

IMG_2023IMG_2003IMG_1953IMG_1958

of coarse it wasn’t too long until the fun wore off. old habits are hard to break so we moved in an old friend. but at least it’s babysteps….there’s always tomorrow.
